The Questions That Matter, Answered for North Cyprus

Is there a waiting list?
Donor availability varies enormously between countries, and in the UK finding a match can take a long time. At Fertina there is no waiting list: we keep an active register of screened donors, and matching typically begins as soon as your screening is complete.
How does donor matching work?
Rules differ by country: some allow you to see childhood photos, others only basic traits, and anonymity laws vary. In North Cyprus, donation is anonymous, and you receive a detailed non-identifying profile with matching on physical characteristics, ethnicity, and blood type. You approve the match before anything proceeds.
What does it really cost?
Ask any clinic what the headline price excludes, medications, ICSI, freezing, and accommodation are common extras. Our packages are all-inclusive and published openly: own-egg IVF from €3,450, donor-egg treatment from €5,450, and all-inclusive stays with accommodation, medications, and transfers listed on our costs page. You get a written, itemised quote in EUR before you commit.
How far is the travel?
Fly direct from most UK airports to Larnaca (around 4.5–5 hours), or to Ercan via Istanbul. Either way, our driver meets you at arrivals, transfers are included in every package, and the clinic is about 40 minutes from Ercan. Most UK patients need one trip of about 10 days.
Will language be a problem?
No. English is spoken throughout your treatment, by Dr. Sever, the clinical team, and your dedicated patient coordinator, and North Cyprus is a long-standing destination for British visitors and residents.
How is treatment regulated?
Fertina operates under TRNC healthcare legislation, which differs from the UK’s HFEA framework, notably on donor anonymity and access to donor treatment. Our clinic is ISO 9001 certified, and we will answer any question about how our processes work before you travel. We also recommend speaking with your GP before treatment abroad.
Why are prices lower than at home?
Operating costs in North Cyprus, staff, premises, and services, are substantially lower than in the UK, and that difference flows through to treatment prices. The laboratory equipment, medications, and consumables are the same international brands used across Europe.
What happens after I fly home?
Your coordinator stays one WhatsApp message away. We guide your pregnancy test, coordinate any early scans with a clinic near you, and remain available to you and your GP with records and advice, through to delivery.
Famagusta

Recover by the Mediterranean

Fertility treatment works best when your body and mind are at ease. That is why we built our clinic on the seaside in Famagusta, not in a busy city centre.

With golden sandy beaches minutes from our door, the warm Mediterranean air and gentle pace of life create the ideal environment to recover between appointments. Many of our patients tell us their time in Famagusta felt more like a restorative break than a clinical trip: quiet harbour-side restaurants, historic streets, and long coastal walks while your treatment does its work.

Unlike the larger, high-volume clinics elsewhere on the island, Fertina is a boutique practice where you are known by name, not by number. Every patient has the same specialist from first scan to transfer. It is a deliberate choice we made when founding the clinic, and our patients consistently tell us it makes all the difference.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is IVF in North Cyprus safe?

Our clinic operates under TRNC healthcare legislation, holds ISO 9001 international certification, and was built new with 2026-generation laboratory equipment. Safety also depends on honest patient selection, we assess every patient individually and will decline treatment we do not believe is medically appropriate.

How many trips will I need?

Usually one. Preliminary tests can be done at home, consultations happen by video or WhatsApp, and most UK patients travel once for around 10 days at the treatment stage. Patients who prefer to have the entire cycle at the clinic choose the 21-day stay.

Which airport should I fly to?

Two options: fly direct from the UK to Larnaca in the south (about 4.5–5 hours) and cross to Famagusta by road, or fly to Ercan via Istanbul. Our driver collects you either way, airport transfers are included in every package.

Can my partner and I both come?

Please do, package accommodation covers both partners, with breakfast included in the hotel options. Famagusta is an easy place to spend ten days together, and treatment tends to go better when nobody is doing it alone.

What paperwork or preparation do I need?

A valid passport, your medical and cycle history, and any recent test results you have. Your coordinator sends a personalised checklist after your free consultation, including which tests can be done through your GP or a local lab before you travel.

What if something goes wrong after I get home?

You keep a direct WhatsApp line to your coordinator and clinical team. We coordinate with UK clinics for scans or follow-up care where needed, and we provide complete treatment records for your GP or midwife.
